Our History

In 2016, Bethany Grubb PA-C, Joe Capasso PA-C, and Joleen Volz PA-C formed the Texas Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (TXSDPA) and incorporated in the state of Texas. Shortly thereafter, we designed the society logo and assigned our first Board of Directors.
In 2020, the society re-organized with the help of Matt Bruno PA-C, Holly Glover PA-C, and Megan Tyler PA-C.
In 2023, the TXSDPA held a society meeting at the Boston SDPA conference for Texas PAs. We elected a new board in October 2023 and reincorporated as the Texas Society of Dermatology Professional Associates (TXSDPA) in order to be inclusive of both PAs and NPs alike who practice dermatology in the state of Texas.
In November 2023, TXSDPA hired a management and conference planning company, Elevate Medical Education.
TXSDPA was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)6 corporation on April 29, 2024.
May 2-4, 2024 TXSDPA held it's Inaugural Annual Conference, Skin Symposium, at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Cedar Creek, TX.
On July 28, 2025, following a vote by the Board of Directors, the society amended it's name with the state of Texas to become the Texas Dermatology Professionals Association (TXDPA.)
